In December, you may recall we had a lovely snowstorm, bringing us 20″ of snow. Guess what!? We’ve been hit with yet another snow storm.

Friday P.M.-Not too bad, right?

6:30 AM on Saturday. 20" of snow!

9:30 AM on Saturday and the snow is still falling!

At least the boys are enjoying the snow!
The snow is still falling! By the time it’s all over, we’re expecting around 30″ of snow! The local Department of Transportation has indicated that neighborhood streets won’t be cleared for another 36 hrs. Therefore, the entire J-crew will be spending the entire weekend indoors. We’ve got a ton of great food planned. The husband has already cleared a path to the grill, so we’ll be eating well! I’m hoping to get some reading done! We’ll see if that happens!
Updated pics:

Saturday, 1:30 PM

Believe it or not, that's my van under there!

Trees are breaking under the weight of the snow. Breaking limbs sound like gunshots.

Always important to have that path to the grill. One year my husband took a saw to a 2″ layer of ice on top of snow so he could get to the grill.
Ha!! I just showed this post to my husband. He said “yeah! gotta clear a path to the grill, Good Man!!”.

Oh jeez, the “time lapse photography” made me laugh out loud. We only got about 4 or 5 inches here, which I’m a little bummed about, because there’s something just a little bit delightful about being snowed in, especially on a Saturday when I had no major plans anyway! I guess I’d be singing a different tune if it were next Saturday… Anyhow, hope you enjoy your snowed in reading and eating! =)
As you know, I am quite envious. I miss huge snow storms. Stay warm and safe and enjoy this time together. We finally received snow! Not a lot, but it is snow and I can no longer see the grass, granted it came with the usual ice storm we are quite used to.
I’m sure it’s a pain in the butt for some people, but sometimes it’s nice to spend a weekend knowing you don’t have to go outside. We were told we were getting a storm here in NYC but we’ve got about .5 inches. lol.

It was bad here, but you guys got it worse. Wow! I’m looking out my french doors right now and I am actually seeing blue skies and fluffy white clouds. It could almost be a summer sky if it weren’t for the snow-laden pine trees in my view. I hope your snow ends soon. Stay safe and warm!
Wow, great shots! I hope it melts fast!
Wow, this is even crazier than I’d thought. I’m just imagining what Louisiana would do if we got hit with this kind of snow – everything shuts down when we get three inches, let alone thirty. Y’all take care!
Those pictures are amazing! Enjoy all your food!
That same storm brought us over 4 inches of rain, so I can imagine what you got hit with. When we lived in North Carolina, we used to get ice storms and I remember those cracking branches and falling trees – it’s a sound like no other.

That is an insane amount of snow! I have NEVER seen that much snow fall at once, and I’ve lived in Chicago for 5 years now.
That’s a lot of snow! Hope you stocked plenty of milk and bread!

Ugh! The ONLY thing that weather is good for is curling up with a warm blanket, a cup of hot chocolate, and a stack of really great books!

Oh and baking. For some reason, I go into major cookie mode when it snows.
Wow!! We had a lot of snow here in central Ohio, but definitely not that much! Glad your boys got to enjoy it.

I can’t believe how much snow you guys ended up with. I mean, it’s bad here and you had 10″ more than us (at least!)
I think we’re in the same storm–I’m in Howard County, MD, 30″–our van looks the same, and now it’s snowing again!

LOL don’t you just love all this snow…that wind during the blizzard was even worse.
