I hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving yesterday! I’m still recovering from all the eating I did yesterday!
I’m pretty excited to spend the weekend reading! I’m not one of those crazy people that wake up at the crack of dawn to go shopping. Instead, I’ll curl up with a book or two instead.
So, here is a list of books I plan on reading this weekend.

*Update: It’s 4 pm on Thankfully Reading Weekend Day One! I’m almost finished with Shutter Island. Wow! The boys and I spent a good portion of the morning putting up our Christmas tree and decorating for Christmas. This is the first year I’ve decorated this early! It’s chilly and windy outside, and the sky has the look of winter. What a perfect day to curl up with a book!

I just finished The Jade Cat this morning–it was probably about an hours worth of reading. Soon I will be headed off to the library to pick up some reserves and then I hope to spend the majority of the day–and weekend–reading!
I have no desire to shop either. I’d rather spend the weekend with the kids and in a book. I love the dog on the cover of Now & Then. Happy reading!

I am just sitting down to read. Oh, I have not seen that James Patterson before. I cannot wait to hear more about it!
Just finished Olive Kitteridge. Good book. I’m not sure if I’ll start Whisper’s of the Bayou or finish Dead Until Dark first.
Nice books! I’ve finished one book so far, I’d like to get three or four more read and reviewed by the end of the weekend. Enjoy!

I’m with you – give me a book over going shopping most days! Great list of books! I have a Dennis Lehane here but it’s not Shutter Island. I hope to read that soon! I love the picture of the dog on the cover of Now & Then although I’ve read he doesn’t figure too prominently in the book!

I love Dennis Lehane and Shutter Island is one of my favorites. I hear they are making a movie of it. I loved both the book and movie of Mystic River so I have hopes for this. Have a great Saturday and Sunday Reading.
