It’s now nearing the end of the first (annual!?) Thankfully Reading Weekend. I had an incredibly relaxing weekend! Not only did I read, but I spent quality time with my boys decorating for Christmas. We also had our Christmas pictures taken and the boys got to see Santa. A very rewarding and thankful weekend, overall!
I finished two of the three books I’d planned to read. I think I would have finished the third had I not spent most of the day today catching up on the “V” series with my husband! I did manage to finish Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane (still can’t stop thinking about this one!) and Now & Then by Jacqueline Sheehan. Check for my review of Now & Then tomorrow (Monday) and my review of Shutter Island later on this week!
I hope everyone enjoyed Thankfully Reading Weekend! Be sure to link your wrap up posts here.

So glad to hear you enjoyed the weekend! I really loved this idea and was grateful to have a chance to focus on being thankful for the reading “things” in my life.
And don’t you just love “V”? It’s one of our favorites so far this season. Have a great week to come!
I don’t think I’ve ever had a weekend in which I was able to get so little reading done, undoubtedly because I tried to schedule nothing but reading! Next year I may have to sneak up on it, not declaring it until it is over with!
Your weekend sounds like a fun one, Jenn. I am glad you were able to get so much done. I caught up on V this weekend too.
Have a great week.
Sounds like a great mix of family time and reading. Glad you had a good weekend.
I’m glad you had some good relaxing down time!

Sounds like you had a successful weekend all around! I do hope we make this an annual event. It was fun and relaxing.
It was an enjoyable weekend! I really appreciated the fact that there was no pressure. Just read when you can and enjoy! You really had a great mix of family time and reading.
Sounds like a great way to spend the weekend. Dennis Lehane’s work must be like that – that’s how I felt after reading Mystic River.
I am glad you had a successful weekend. I didn’t get as much reading done as I had hoped. On Friday morning, I read the last 100 pages of the book I had been reading all week. Then I read two (shorter) books over the weekend and am halfway through a third.
