It’s Monday! What Are You Reading This Week?

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading This Week? This is a weekly event to list the books completed last week, the books currently being reading, and the books to be finish this week. It was created by J.Kaye’s Book Blog, so stop by and join in!

Books Completed Last Week

I feel like every week I’m explaining why I didn’t get my “scheduled reading” accomplished.  I’m not going to do that anymore.  I mean, we’re all human and I think everyone understands that life happens. This past week I was still playing catch up after been out with the flu. Oh, and it doesn’t help that I had to work all day Saturday (my reading day!) So, without further ado, my list of completed books last week:

A Killing Frost (The Tomorrow Series #3) by John Marsden
The Thirteen Days Of Halloween by Carol Greene

Currently Reading

Darkness Be My Friend (The Tomorrow Series #4) by John Marsden
Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger

Books (I plan!) to Complete This Week

The Maze Runner by James Dasher
The Asylum Prophecies by Daniel Keyes
Flesh and Fire: Book One of The Vineart War by Laura Anne Gilman
Angel Lane by Sheila Roberts
Fear the Worst by Linwood Barclay
Oxygen by Carol Cassella
Saint John of the Five Boroughs by Edward Falco

So, what are you reading this week?

  1. Ah, the post that organizes my brain for the week:
Okay, right now I’m reading “Haunting Bombay.” I’m not too far into it and have a couple of busy days, so it might take me awhile.
Once I finish it, I need to read something from my TBR pile because of Swapna’s challenge. I’m thinking maybe of picking up “The Ghost Brigades” by John Scalzi because it will be quick and a total change of pace.
Hopefully I’ll be able to at least start one more book this week and that will probably be “The Kingmaking” by Helen Hollick, because I need to review the sequel at the end of the month and I want to read this one first and they are LONG.

I am currently reading Her Fearful Symmetry as well. After that, I’ll be reading The Help.

That’s a lot of books you plan on reading this week. It’s awesome. I couldn’t ever even hope to read that many. If I finish two this week I’ll be happy, lol!
You do have some interesting titles here and Maze Runner is one I hope to read this month so I’ll be waiting for your review.

  4. Jennifer says:

My Fearful Symmetry is on my TBR list. The Asylum Prophecies sounds good. Happy reading. My list is here: http://rundpinne.blogspot.com/2009/10/what-are-you-reading-monday.html

  5. I’m reading The Seance by John Harwood and loving every minute of it! I also plan to read the Maze Runner at some point in October.

Glad that you’re back from the flu! How awful.

  6. Good plan and a never ending supply of books! :)

  7. You all are so good to post your monthly round up. It always slightly intimidates me though. :) I was good this weekend and finished two books, so I’m not 1005 sure what I’m off to next. I do have an ARC I need to read for Waterbrook (I think that’s the publisher), so we’ll see. If not that one, I have a Mt. TBR to draw from!

I so want to read ANGEL LANE, but have too many books on the shelf right not…ugh!

I just started The Maze Runner and it’s interesting so far. I really want to read Fear the Worst, so I need to go and look for that one.

  10. Rob says:

This week I’m reading, “Dragon House” by John Shors. I scored a copy through LibraryThing’s early review program. Last night I finished the first chapter and I’m hooked. That’s always a good way to begin.

  11. Marie says:

Sounds like a great reading week!

  12. Gayle says:

OK, it would take me a month or two to get through what you have planned for this week. I am curious to hear what you think of Oxygen – it’s been on my radar for a while.

  13. Mary says:

I think a lot of reviews for Symmetry will start appearing very soon – I’m looking forward to hearing what bloggers think about it. My review for Angel Lane went up today! Have a great week.

  14. Jenners says:

Sometimes I’m reading the same book for a week or more!!! So never feel like you have to explain!!! : )

  15. Liz says:

I went from dangerously close to no books I wanted to read to several! Went to a friend’s book club in another town and came away with recs for “Here is You Need Me,” and the one with “Guernsey” in the title and “Potato Peel Society.” It’s a weird name and I can’t remember it and I’m on hold for that one. Lots of book clubs reading it apparently.

But while picking up “here if you need me,” about a Unitarian minister (it’s a memoir) and her life in Maine, helping with search and rescue and other emergency situations, I found a new book, “Vanished,” by Joseph Finder, and I’m just whipping through that. Enjoying it, too, though everything seems a little too convenient, in terms of plotting. How fortunately to have an ex-Special Forces brother-in-law, for example! And I found the latest John Lescroart, too. Hated his last one, so I hope this Dismas Hardy adventure is better.

  16. Liz says:

By the way, when I was reading your post about “Angel Lane,” before I even got to your comment about Debbie Macomber, I was thinking, “hmmm, sounds like Debbie Macomber!” But it sounds like a nice, easy read.

  17. Saint John of the Five Boroughs is on my “soon” reading plan, too.

    Enjoy all your books, Jenn!

I just got back from my visit home and my TBR stack for the week hasn’t been touched! Agh.

  19. Whooo! I just came back to check out what I said I was going to read this week because I felt way behind (just finished “Haunting Bombay” this morning, been reading it since Sunday). But, if I can get through “The Ghost Brigades” today or tomorrow I’ll actually be more or less on track!
