The fall/winter months are times of year best spent curled up with a blanket and a nice book. Even better, a cozy mystery! Cozies are certainly one of my favorite types of books that, unfortunately, I don’t have the opportunity to read as much a I’d like. So, what better reason to read about them than a week-long celebration of cozy mysteries?

Cozy Mystery Week is scheduled for December 8-13.  Each day I will focus on a favorite series of mine, both new and old.  A fan of cozies yourself? Join me! Link up below or indicate your interest in the comments below. Also, I’ll create a link-up the beginning of cozy mystery week,  so feel free to link up any cozy mystery posts you’ve written. The best part? They can be from any time period, not only Cozy Mystery week.

So, get your comfortable reading spot, a nice warm blanket, a cozy mystery or two, and join me for Cozy Mystery Week!

Help out others participating; comment below with your favorite cozy mystery series!

What fun! My favorite cozy series to record has been Leslie Meier’s Lucy Stone mysteries. I haven’t read them all but Lucy is a wonderful down to earth main character and the books always weave in her thoughts on social injustice, but not in a heavy handed way. They’re also full of the usual whacky small characters, which are a lot of fun to play!

I’ll admit I’m not a HUGE cozy reader, but I do have a stack I’ve been meaning to tackle. This seems like a prime opportunity!

I like the Bailey Cates Magical Bakery Mysteries. I too have a huge stack that I’d like to get to.

I will have to see. December is going to be a busy month for me, but I think this is before all the family comes into town. I don’t read many cozies, but when I do it is usually in the winter.

I’ve never really been one for mysteries, but I’ve always loved the idea of a cozy mystery … they always seem less serious than the normal mystery books, and a lot more fun. Hopefully this week will get me into the genre!

As I noted in my post, roughly 1/2 of the books I read each year are mysteries, and the majority of those fall into the “cozy” category. I have a lot of unread cozies on hand, both the traditional printed books and electronic books. Since I have travel planned for next week, I’m focusing on a couple of books that are already loaded onto my Kindle.
