Oh, I hope you’re enjoying HOUSE OF SILK, I really liked it. I’m participating in Jennifer’s THE MARRIAGE PLOT readalong, so I’ve got that going off and on. Other than that, I’m reading Jane Austen’s PERSUASION and Robert K. Massie’s CATHERINE THE GREAT. If I finish those, I’ll move on to the new Tradd Street book, plus an Agatha Christie biography.
Why have I not read a Karen White yet, I need to get that off my long TBR list.

Looking forward to your thoughts on HOUSE OF SILK. I’m just about finished THE STRAIN have been wanting to read this series for awhile but decided to wait for the third book to come out before I started. Also reading THE MARRIAGE PLOT for a readalong.

I’m listening to Dr. No (James Bond #6; y Ian Fleming; narrated by Simon Vance) and; picking at the last chapters of A Distant Mirror: The Calamitous 14th Century (by Barbara Tuchman.) I’ve got Sarah Vowell’s Wordy Shipmates here staring at me. I went out of my way to get Wordy Shipmates; but now that I have it in hand, I don’t feel that good reading vibe coming from it… weird I know. I just need to start it already
Looks like some good stuff here! I really want to read Iron Knight. Now, where to find the time?!?
ON CONAN DOYLE by Michael Dirda. I’d thought the topic was exhausted, hoped I was wrong and so far have been rewarded with a motherlode of Sherlockian insight.
