It’s Monday! What Are You Reading This Week? This is a weekly event to list the books completed last week, the books currently being reading, and the books to be finish this week. It is  hosted by Sheila from One Person’s Journey Through a World of  Books so stop by and join in!

Books Completed Last Week

It’s been an incredibly busy week for me; I literally worked all weekend. So, the only book I completed was an audio, only because I listened to it as I drove to and from work.

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline (audio)

Currently Reading

The Leftovers by Tom Perrotta
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

Books to Complete This Week

Everybody Sees the Ants by A.S. King
The Name of the Star (Shades of London) by Maureen Johnson
The Woman Who Swallowed Her Cat: And Other Gruesome Medical Tales by Rob Myers
Guys Read #02: Guys Read: Thriller by Jon Scieszka

A bit ambitious, I know.  If I get two of these finished this week I’ll be happy!

Ooh, I’d love to know what you think of Name of the Star; I’ve heard a lot about it. This week is busy and I’m taking a trip in the middle of it so I probably won’t get to read much, but if I do I’ve got The Second Duchess by Elizabeth Loupas on my TBR pile (it’s historical, sort of a switch from my usual YA reads, but it looks great). And a nonfiction book on owls :)

    Have a great week!

  2. Yay! I’m anxious to see how you liked The Night Circus. I read that one last week!

I can’t wait to hear what you think of NIGHT CIRCUS. I’ve heard so many good things.

I’m reading Tatiana de Rosnay’s A SECRET KEPT and I can’t put it down.

  4. Night Circus sounds interesting but I’ll wait for YOUR review before getting it. Here’s what I’m doing (hopefully) this week.

Pie a la Murder – Melinda Wells (on page 175 of 320)
The Nightmare – A Mary Wollstonecraft Mystery – Nancy Means Wright
The Hum and the Shiver – Alex Bledsoe

Then there are the library books
Evil Ways – Justin Gustainis Due 09-27-11
Sympathy for the Devil – Justin Gustainis Due 09-27-11
Hard Spell – Justin Gustainis Due 09-27-11
Another Kind of Dead – Kelly Meding Due 09-27-11

And the ARC’s that are due now
ARC – Elvis and the Tropical Double Trouble – Peggy Webb October 2011
ARC – Liver Let Die – Liz Lipperman October 2011 – To Review
    The Arranger – L. J. Sellers October 2011

I figure if I only sleep 4 hours a night I might finish 65% of them by the weekend.

  5. Woman Who Swallowed Her Cat sounds absolutely nuts! I may need to check that one out.

  6. Cindy a.k.a. crichardwriter says:

I am currently reading “The Night Circus”. I adore it so far – such delicious descriptions of this unique circus and the type of whimsy I love to see in books.

  7. I am also reading The Night Circus…almost done and can’t put it down!

  8. Well, Nicole and I are reading THE KITCHEN COUNTER COOKING SCHOOL by Kathleen Flinn together this week. Besides that:

Print: LITTLE GALE GUMBO by Erika Marks
Nook: PRACTICAL JEAN by Trevor Cole and the next section of GONE WITH THE WIND
Audio: BIRDS OF PARADISE by Diana Abu-Jaber, I’m not sure what I’ll start after this, it will depend on freelance assignments

  9. Jean Lewis says:

Also reading THE NIGHT CIRCUS. Love it so far. And, I’m finishing up a book I will be doing an author Q&A with that I just love. It is THE KITCHEN COUNTER COOKING SCHOOL by Kathleen Flinn. It is amazing.

  10. J.P. Hansen says:

I’m reading DEATH’s DOOR, a mystery by Gail Lukasik set in Door Cty, Wisconsin. It’s good.

  11. JO SALMON says:

I love to read and I’m always wanting to hear about good books.
