Continuing a mystery kick, having finished Reginald Hill’s The Woodcutter and William Kent Krueger’s Northwest Angle last week, my main book this week is Toby Ball’s Scorch City. It’s the second novel set in the same city as his debut The Vaults, which I admired so very much.

Just finished among others by Jo Walton. Wow. Now reading beowulf by Seamus Heaney and The Mistress of Nothing by Kate Pullinger. Next on pile is The Postmistress and Built of Books: How Reading Defined the Life of Oscar Wilde by Thomas Wright. Found that last one at Half Price Books, might have to move that up on the list.

  3. Reading THE DARK HALF by Stephen King

I read Autumn: The City and will probably circle back around for Autumn. Not a huge zombie fan but liked this one.

  5. You got through a lot of books! I was stuck for part of the week on The Obscure Logic of the Heart by Priya Basil. It was a good book, just took a long time to read.

    Have a good new week!

  6. I’m listening to THE MAP OF TIME and probably will be all week, even though I plan to squeeze a lot of listening in, because it is 20 hours long.

I’m reading Q: A (TIMELESS) LOVE STORY by Evan Manderly in print and I’m super unsure about it, but at the same time it is intriguing and reads quickly, so I’ll likely read the whole thing. Also this week I plan to start THE LANGUAGE OF FLOWERS by Vanessa Diffenbaugh and THE TWELFTH ENCHANTMENT by David Liss, plus I’m hoping to squeeze in WE THE ANIMALS by Justin Torres somewhere.

I’m finishing up Little Black Dress, and I’ve got to get off stories about siblings and and mother’s and daughters. Not sure what is next, maybe Violets of March, I thought Faith, but it’s very family driven, I need something different!! I’ve got shelves and kindle full to choose from just finding the right thing.
Wishing you a good reading week.

  13. How is it possible that I haven’t heard of any of these books?!

  14. Dru says:

I’m reading Quickstep to Murder by Ella Barrick.

  15. Amy Devreaux says:

Given the reviews I’ve read of yours, I think you’re going to love In Malice, Quite Close. ;) I just finished it. It’s fantastic. I’ll have to get on your reading list.
