The Big Game’s On Read-a-thon: Half-Time

February 6, 2011 The Big Game's On! Read-a-thon! 12

Half-time has come & gone and so it is time to reminisce on what you’ve read so far today.  How has your reading gone so far?  What snacks have you partaken in? Are you catching any of the commercials? Any favorites?

Since a few people were having problems with the Mr. Linky earlier, feel free to share your progress in the comments below or include a link to your post in the comments!

We just recently returned from picking my mom up from the train station. Poor mom, her train was two hours late.  After picking her up, getting home & making food, I’m just sitting down to read again.  I’m hoping to finish reading Little Princes here soon and move on to Three Seconds.

Food: we’ve munched on wings, potato skins, taquitos, spinach dip…and boy will I be feeling it in the morning!

Reading has not gone so well. There was a nap, and part of a movie. But I did finish my book! That’s something, right? But now it’s time for Big Love. I’m hoping to read a few chapters between the end of that and the new Glee.

I haven’t gotten much reading done because I’ve been spending time with the hubby laughing at this super bowl game. Half time was painful. Yikes! THEN, I just realized a new episode of GLEE is going to be on. That will seriously cut into my reading time. I can’t miss Glee.

Still reading Cleopatra…haven’t gotten much done…too busy falling asleep. *L* I’m blissfully alone though. Husband and sons went to a friends for the game. I have been checking the score because I <3 the Steelers…and I watched the wonderful half-time show. Now I'm eating Papa John's pizza and getting back to reading. Hope everyone else is having success!

Not having as much success as planned. The game has been closer than I thought and then there are those commercials. Some have been pretty good. I plan to get some reading done before Glee…fingers crossed.

I feel pretty successful. I’ve made it through my stack of children’s books and made notes on them so that I can write reviews this week; 27 total. Then, I read Cahoots, the 3rd book in the Aldo Zelnick comic novel series. Now, I am on pg. 135 of The Radleys. I’ve stopped off and on to do laundry, eat supper, chicken soup, and then I’ve just finished off a plate of nachos – supper was early, so I got hungry again. Hubby just brought me a Diet Dr. Pepper, so back to reading!

We just got home at 7 here from our late lunch and movie. I did finish So Shelly before we headed off and hope to pick up By These Ten Bones after I get some blogposts scheduled for the week. 🙂

So far I’ve read about 200 pages in Moon over Manifest (was already 100 pages or so into it), the first 5 chapters of Villette, and about 112 pages into Ship Breaker. I call it a success!

Oh my goodness! I totally and completely failed today! I did create my first video/attempted vlog, but I left for my sister’s before I posted it, because I was planning to watch the game (big fans over there, good excuse to hang out) and… it is now 11:00, and I haven’t even opened a book! So, I’m going to get a little reading done tonight, hopefully finishing this book I need done, and then writing the wrap post… Sigh. Fail. 🙁 Great idea though! 🙂
