I’m preparing to interview Ridley Pearson next month, so I’m all Ridley all the time!
On audio I’m listening to his stand alone CUT AND RUN. In print, I’m reading part of the Lou Boldt series, MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. Enjoying both.
Last week I finished Brad Parks’ new book EYES OF THE INNOCENT, which will be out in February. Absolutely wonderful follow-up to his debut FACES OF THE GONE. If you haven’t read FACES, I highly recommend doing so. It’s available from Audible on audio now, too!

My current audio is C STREET by Jeff Sharlet and it is so horrifying that I think it merits inclusion in Fright Fest! These people have absolutely terrifying theology. Next up in audio is AMNITYVILLE HORROR, then THE FALL. I’m sad I’ll be missing Fright Fest with all of these reviews, though.
In print I’m currently reading WE HAVE ALWAYS LIVED IN THE CASTLE for the Classic Reads Book Club, DUST AND SHADOW by Lyndsay Faye (Sherlock Holmes involved in the case of Jack the Ripper) and, for something less scary than everything else I’m consuming, THE HEROINE’S BOOKSHELF, which I am loving. Later this week I’ll be starting THE PASSIONATE BROOD and either A FRIEND IN THE FAMILY or THE DISTANT HOURS.

This week I’m reading A Thousand Splendid Suns, starting A Suitable Boy, and hopefully wrapping up the audio version of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Yes, I know it’s Halloween week, but I just don’t like scary books!

I’ve got Ice Cradle in my stack, not sure if I’ll get to it this week, but I’m going to try. Right now I’ve got less than 100 to go on FG Cottam’s Dark Echo, a haunted/cursed ship story.
