Teaser Tuesday: Running Dark by Jamie Freveletti

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along!

Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My teaser this week comes from Running Dark by Jamie Freveletti:

“If killing him was on their agenda, they wouldn’t have shown themsleves so early but would instead have jumped him from behind.  They were there to deliver a message and then beat the hell out of him to drive the point home.”

What’s your teaser this week?

  1. The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake

Truth was, it was hard to see George eat those cookie halves without hesitation. Without tasting even a speck of the hurry in Janet’s oatmeal, which was so rushed it was like eating the calendar of an executive, or without catching a glimpse of the punching bag tucked beside every chocolate chip. I was so jealous, already of everyone else’s mouth.
