Yesterday I finished up THE MYSTIC ART OF ERASING ALL SIGNS OF DEATH. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it. I listened to it on audio, and I understand that it’s written without quotation marks, more like a script than a novel, but it is magnificent! People who are especially turned off by language may not like it so much, but it isn’t gratuituous, it definitely plays into the character development. I truly thought it was brilliant.

Now I’ve started Marcus Sakey’s THE AMATEURS on audio. Really, I feel like all I need to say is Marcus Sakey because he simply hasn’t written a bad book. He hasn’t even written an o.k. book. He writes spectacular books and THE AMATEURS is no different.

In print I’m working on Jamie Freveletti’s upcoming release RUNNING DARK. Just started this one. Last week I finished CEMETERY ROAD by Gar Anthony Haywood. Fantastic. It’s been a run of wonderful books and I’m timidly waiting for the one that breaks the streak…don’tcha just hate that?

Ohhh..I’m adding the audio of THE MYSTIC ART OF ERASING ALL SIGNS OF DEATH to my wishlist! I too am starting up Jamie Freveletti’s book, RUNNING DARK, but I’m going to try to start reading the previous one, RUNNING FROM THE DEVIL first. We’ll see how that goes!

I finished up Book Two of The Brothers of Gwynedd by Edith Pargeter! It was fabulous and even better than the first book! And today at lunch I am starting Book Two of The Morland Dynasty by Cynthia Harrod-Eagles, The Dark Rose.

    Have a great Monday!

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on The Passage. Have a great week.

You had a good week. I have been tempted by both the books on your current week plan. The Passage sounds excellent but I have to lower the number on my TBR stack before I add another book. Have a great reading week!

  5. I got behind in my schedule last week when I added in 3 books that either weren’t on it or were scheduled for later in the summer (especially since one of them was THE PASSAGE). Because of that, this week I’m working on a bit of catch-up.

Right now I’m reading THE ICING ON THE CUPCAKE by Jennifer Ross which is really only ok. After that my plans are for THE NOBODIES ALBUM by Carolyn Parkhurst, BACKSEAT SAINTS by Joshilyn Jackson, and probably THE EDUCATION OF BET and THE HOUSE OF THE MOREYS to at least finish up my books I was supposed to finish last week. If I can get that far, I may also start either COMMUTERS by Emily Gray Tedrowe or THE HUNDRED-FOOT JOURNEY by Richard C. Morais

On the audio front, I’m just about to finish SO COLD THE RIVER by Michael Kortya. Tomorrow I’ll start SUITE SCARLETT by Maureen Johnson.

  6. I want to read The Passage – hope it is good! :D

I have started The Passage as well – I actually started it a few weeks ago and was intrigued, but life got in the way. I need to get back to it. Hope you enjoy it.
