Teaser Tuesday: A Note from an Old Acquaintance by Bill Walker
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along!
Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My teaser this week comes from A Note from an Old Acquaintance by Bill Walker:
“He wanted to believe she would give it all up, needed to believe it, but her reaction the other night when he tried to broach the subject of their future had been anything but encouraging. Maybe she simply loved the idea of being in love, but didn’t want to take the risk of upsetting a comfortable life for the unknown. “
What is your teaser this week? Check back tomorrow for my review of A Note from an Old Acquaintance!

Before I do my teaser, I was on Twitter and happened to see a comment from someone on a list I follow saying, "am I the only person who doesn't know the word 'meme?" Of course, "meme" is front and center for Teaser Tuesday! Just made me smile, that's all.
My teaser is from a book on happiness, and how to achieve it and keep it, how to turn your failures into successes. It's The Objective is Happiness and is by Thomas Wakefield. He gives you the basics, and formulas, so to speak, on how to get from where you are to where you want to be. It explains everything from the power of positive thinking to the power of passion and action, as it should be explained (and as it hasn't been). I'm a big believer in in the power of the mind and how it affects your actions, so it's been great for me. From page 56: [[Invisible forces in your partnership will create coincidences. You might meet a person, something will show up, all manner of coincidence and things that seem like miracles will happen around and near you. Again, pay attention. Some things will be obvious while some others will be subtle.''
Great teaser. Makes me wonder where their relationship is going…
I loved this book, and am sure you will too.
