In Which I Celebrate My Favorite Blogs

BBAW_Celebrate_BooksToday’s the first official day of Book Blogger Appreciation Week! The purpose of this post is to recognize a few of  my favorite blogs. Now, I have waaay too many favorites to list in one post, so I’m just going to list three blogs that I love.  And, obviously,  used a very selective method to select these blogs (I closed my eyes, scrolled, and whichever blog the or landed on, wins!).

NMGB

It just so happens that the first blog I landed on was also the very first blog I followed: No More Grumpy Bookseller. Becky and both have a love of the horror genre. Not the gory horror, but the “chills down the back of your neck” horror. If Becky recommends a book, I know I’ll enjoy it.

bookladyThe next blog is The Book Lady’s Blog. Rebecca has quite the eclectic reading taste!  Her posts are witty and humorous.  She is a true bibliophile; she got married in a library!  She’s also a book seller and details some of her most interesting experiences in her Adventures in Bookselling posts.  These posts literally leave me laughing out loud, with tears rolling down my face!

HHPAnd the final blog is A High and Hidden Place: Tales of A Capricious Reader. Heather is an incredibly creative woman; she created my header!  She and I have very similar tastes in book, she always seems to be reading a book I have on my TBR shelf.  We both switched to self-hosted blogs around the same time and it was nice to have someone experiencing the same frustrations/challenges I was facing, at the same time!

So, those are just a few of my favorite blogs!  Please be sure to check them out!

Thank you introducing me to Becky — I don’t like horror of any kind, but I’m always glad to meet a fellow bookie.

  2. The Book Lady (Rebecca) is on my BBAW list too. I’m going to look at the first blog which I’m not familiar.

  3. Heather says:

Awww, why thank you! I am incredibly touched you included me on your list of favorite blogs. Yours is definitely on my list too. And yes, it was so great to go through the ordeal, I mean, adventure of going to self-hosting. I look forward to sharing more books in the future!

  4. Thanks Jenn for intrducing me to three new bloggers.

BTW I added your blog in my post. I enjoy talking to you and reading your reviews.

Making up these lists was so hard, but it’s been so much fun reading what everyone came up with. I know 2 of the 3 you spotlighted so I’m going to check out the new one right now!

So far have only checked out No More Grumpy Bookseller…a super blog..had fun browsing around there…wouldn’t have found it if you had not mentioned it here..ty Jenn.

  11. Ah, the scientific method of selection :)

Choosing only a few book blog/gers to showcase was tough (next year, I may use your scroll and click method!)

    Enjoy the BBAW festivities.

  12. Jenn, what great blogs to have randomly selected. :) I’ve added No More Grumpy Bookseller to my Google Reader. What a great name.

I love your new site, too! Great work on that. I hope you love it!

  13. Lol! I did the randomizer too. These are some great blogs. It’s really hard to go wrong with so much good stuff.

  14. Second time, I’ve seen High and Hidden Place, so added to my reader. Thanks for the recommendation.
