The Literary Road Trip is a project in which bloggers are volunteering to showcase local authors. This showcase can be anything you want to make of it – book reviews, author interviews, giveaways – as long as you’re working with an author local to you.
How it works:
- Stake your claim! Post a comment (if you haven’t already) and let me know what State, territory, region, etc. you’d like to showcase on your blog.
- Post content on your blog
- Add a link to your posts to the monthly link-up posts (usually the first few days of the following month).
- Each month, I’ll add new links submitted to a Road Map post that navigates readers through who has posted and what.
Frequently asked questions:
Can more than one blogger claim the same state/territory/country?
Yes! More than one person can claim the same location. I want anyone who wants to participate to feel like they can.
How long will this project last?
There are no defined time limitations. Participate for as long as you would like.
Can I use the Literary Road Trip graphic in your posts?
Please do!
Do I have to post weekly?
Heck no! Post at any interval you want!
Can you read/write about authors who are dead?
Yes absolutely, if they are part of a list of your local authors please do showcase them.
I’m a publisher, can I participate?
Absolutely as long as you have a blog and you’re focusing on one location in geography. Pick a state/territory/province and you’re good to go.
Is there a list of publishers/authors who have expressed an interest in participating?
Again, yes – I’ve posted a list of those who have expressed an interest below.
Do you know of any resources where I can find information about local authors?
Yes, Tif at Literary Locals has a database you can check out.

Hi! I just stumbled upon this! I think this is a great idea and Misty and I would be proud to represent Hawaii in this Literary Road Trip. Hawaii has a rich tradition of literature and we are more than happy to share it with as many people as we can.

Great idea!
I’ll sign up for Oregon. I see that my friend Ali has done so already, but you said that more than one is OK.
Can I add some links to posts that I’ve already done? I feature a lot of Oregon authors on my blog, so I’d like to use some of what I’ve put up already.
New review today of Hannah Reed’s Buzz Off. Release date September 7, 2010. Author lives in Wisconsin and this series is set in the Fictional town of Moraine, Wisconsin.
